Cisco Unity Connection 2.0.1 Long dial tone after caller hangs up

I have a CUCM server 6.0.1 with a CUC server 2.0.1 and i have properly integrated the two. Voicemail is working as it should. The only issue remaining is a small annoyance. When a caller dials in from the PSTN (I have a 2821 acting as a H.323 gateway to a DS0 provided by Cox via a FXO card) they hear ringing, then the voicemail prompt. when they hear the tone they leave their message as normal and hang up. When i pick up my voicemail and listen to my message, after the caller hangs up his phone the call sounds like it stays active. Dial tone is still audible as if they had hung up on e if i still had the reciever in my ear. It almost seems like the gateway or CUCM isnt signalling that the call has been terminated, or the gateway is the culprit and keeping the call active. I am not sure. Please advise.
