Configuration of two unity servers for Digital Networking

Has anyone been successful in installing and configuring two unity servers that both have exchange installed locally on each box and both in the same AD domain? We need to install digital networking between the two Unity servers, but need to run exchange locally on each box. Per Cisco it is possible to do, but there is no documentation on it. When we installed exchange locally and then added it to the domain, the Unity Server with AD became the primary exchange server and only Exchange tools could be seen on the Second Unity server eventhough we had set up exchange locally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Since exchange is local, this must be a voicemail only solution. Is the first Unity a Domain controller? I assume it is. Install the second Unity server as a domain controller in the same domain and also make it a global catalogue server. then install exchange etc. You should then be able to choose the local server as the partner server during the Unity install. You may want to have the servers in different active directory sites to control replication etc.

Basically:

- Unity 1 with Exchange

- Unity 2 with Exchange

Unity1/Exchange and Unity2/Exchange are both in the same domain. (seperate by the a WAN Connection)

Congifure digital networking in Unity and it should be able forward and send VM between the two unity servers.

You will also want to setup Exchange Routing between the two servers, assign ID's to each Unity server (100 for Unity1 101 for Unity2, etc)

Setup your Site and Services in AD. This will help cut down on replication services in AD and enable the routing between the exchange servers. (SMTP)

Follow your docs and you should be set.
