Configuring TTY with Cisco

Has anyone ever configured TTY utilizing Cisco IPT? I had a previous TTY system on Siemmans, and have no clue what is required or what needs to be done (Hardware/Software) to configure TTY on a Cisco platform.

Not quite sure what you're asking - but as long as you have your messaging system (Unity or Connection) setup for 711/PCM (i.e. not 729a) recording format, it will faithfully record and play back TTY tones - 729a compresses the tones down and they don't play back properly.

There's also some TTY desktop tools that a few sites have found useful - TTY WAV Reader will convert TTY WAV files (i.e. those in your inbox from your desktop) into text which can be handy for folks interacting with TTY uers:

The TTY WAV Maker is the other end of that - type in text and it generates TTY tones in a WAV file that can be sent as a message or used to create audio text applications for TTY Users or the like:

if that's not what you're getting at let me know...

Re: Configuring TTY with Cisco

OK, I think you answered my question, all I need is Unity running g.711 and the two unity tools listed above and I'm good to go, I'm starting from Scratch here, so it was more of a where do I start question, thanks a bunch.
