Controller ISsue

Hi all,

I have a customer having two PRI lines terminated on PRI Card. On PRI Card I have two controllers.

Service Provider has dedicated 20 channels for each PRI and also told me configure controller for 20 channels each.

on one controller im able to configure 20 channels,

controller E1 0/0/0

framing NO-CRC4

pri-group timeslots 1-20

while configuring 2nd controller im not able to configure it for 20 .. if i configure pri-group timeslot 1-20 i got this error "

TGRTR1(config-controller)# pri-group timeslots 1-20

% Not enough DSP resources available to configure pri-group on controller E1 0/0

/1

% The remaining dsp resources are enough for 2 time slots.

% For current codec complexity, 2 extra dsp(s) are required to create this voice

port.

TGRTR1(config-controller)# "

so only two channels i was able to configure for this controller

controller E1 0/0/1

framing NO-CRC4

pri-group timeslots 1-2,16

can any one tell me why is it so, and how can i configure 20 slots on second controller. my PVDM has support of 48 Channels,

here is the pvdm info from show diag

PVDM Slot 0:

48-channel (G.711) Voice/Fax PVDMII DSP SIMM PVDM daughter card

Hi Nasry,

It's possible that you have a configuration similar to this:

voice-card 0

codec complexity high

I would check your codec complexity, change it to flex, and try again.

As well - do you have any other analog ports you're using in the router? This could affect your available DSPs.

hth,

nick

Hi nic,

my voice-card config is this !!!

!

isdn switch-type primary-net5

Hi Nasry,

You may want to plug your details into this calculator and see what it calculates for you:
