Creating New Distribution List in Unity makes AD name look different

Unity 4.1.1; Exchange 2003 Off box

Whenever I create a new distribution list in Unity, the display name in AD looks different. For example, I create a list called UnityTestList in Unity, in AD, the display name will appear like UnityTestList3f34d3. The numbers at the end like 3f34d3 are on all lists that are created by Unity.

Is this normal? I'd like to use the PDLB to create new lists, but I'm concerned that they will all appear this way.

Yeap, it's normal. The hex code is the location object id.
