CUC 2.0 Problem........

Hi

We have a Cisco Unity Connection 2.0 which is inbuilt in CUCM BE 6.0.Recently after an unsuccessful upgrade to 6.1,we did a reboot of the server.After which the CCM services are up and running but the CUC services are not up and the status is unknown.

The VM ports created in the CCM are also unregistered.Let me know how to start these services manually thru GUI/CLI

I have attached the error which occured when the CUC services were tried to restart...

Hi Kumar!

There is a bug:

CSCsm41655 Unity Connection 2 stops answering calls

Symptom:

Connection stops answering calls.

Connection won't start due to Connection DB not starting.

Get the following error: Failed to retrieve services status: ServM did not respond in time, Timed out.

Conditions:

UC 2.0(1)

Workaround:

Reboot box.

An upgrade to version 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 that resolves this problem.

Thanks for the information shared...I have tried to reboot the box twice this week and the CUC services are still in unknown state....

Do you have any other workaround for this???

Hi Kumar,

You will need to contact TAC to get root access so that they can kill processes or stop the DB directly from CLI. Then restart the server again.

There's not too much we can do if no root access is available.
