We just completed an install of CUCM 8.6 on a virtual machine along with UCCX,CUPS,and Unity Conn. Whenever we run a backup for the call manager the quality of the voice gets degraded, like an lfo effect is on the caller. This happens once the files start copying from the subscribers. Qos is in place and we have matching qos on all ports. Can anyone tell me why this only affects the contact center and why it is even happening at all? We are a 24/7 operation.

Is this a gig uplink? Can you post the QoS config? For some reason, it seems like EF packets are not getting priority on the uplink to the ESXi host when the interface gets congested.

That was exactly it. Ran a monitor session to a laptop with wireshark and saw those guys gets dropped. So qos on the links fixed the issue.
