CUCM Upgrade Failed: From 8.6.1.20000-1 to 8.6.2.20000-2

The actual install to the inactive partition went fine.  Trying to switch versions failed.  I didn't get any other info.

Looking at the uptime of the services it seems the server never even rebooted.

Help!

Edit:  This server is a VM.

You are correct, I meant to say issue the switch-version command.

What does "show version active" and "show version inactive" show?

Have you tried rebooting it manaully, i.e. " util system restart"?

Chris

The active version is 8.6.1.20000-1, inactive is 8.6.2.2000-2.

If I reboot is manually wouldn't that just reboot it and not switch versions?

I'll have my client give that a shot.

Thanks!  I'll let you know how it goes.

That worked!

"utils system switch-version"

Thanks!

Hey "G",

Hope all is well buddy!

Although your version shows as "fixed-in" it sounds very much like this bug;

CSCts32387 - Switch Version fails after a Refresh Upgrade to 8.6.2 or 9.0

Description

Symptom:

Switch Version fail after refresh upgrade to 8.6.2 or 9.0

Conditions:

Any refresh upgrade to 8.6.2.10000-30 or 9.x

Workaround:

Workaround #1 - While doing a RU choose to switch to new version. Subsequent

switches will not fail in that case

Workaround #2 -

Contact TAC and provide remote access.
