CUCM 8.0(3)
CUPS 8.0(2)
CUPC 8.0.1
MPX 2.1.1.2
We are having trouble with video conferencing 3 people together ad-hoc in CUPC 8. We can get 2 way video/audio with 2 people, but when conferencing in the third person, it goes to audio only. We have an MPX ad-hoc conference bridge registered to CUCM. The MRG/MRGL contains this conf bridge and is assigned to all phones. I've seen multiple documents, including the CUPC 8 Datasheet, say that MPX VT2.0 is one of the requirements for Video Conferencing in CUPC 8. MPX-standard is not listed.
Example:
Video conferencing | Required for impromptu video conferencing: • Cisco Unified Videoconferencing 5.7, 7.0, or 7.1 |
I assume that's not accurate, based on other posts.
What are we missing here?

MPX and MPX VT use the same installation DVD but two installation options.
For video conferencing, you need to install MPX VT, not MPX.

Is that to say MP 8 would fix this issue as well (from the table above)? Because right now we are hard-pressed to justify them upgrading from MPX to MP8 given that it does not fix the voice prompt issue I posted in another section. We'd definitely rather upgrade to MP8 (even though it means them buying 2GB more ram for their existing server) than crossgrade to MPX-VT.

I would say MP7 or MP8 would be a better option if you're using CUPC 8.
