Is there a release date for the CUPC 8 client for MacOS?

No concrete release date yet.  But it'll be around the 8.5 version time frame.

Ok, so no chat rooms on a Mac, although could we use a jabber client on a Mac for that feature?

I've used Adium. However with the upcoming Cisco Jabber client due out soon, I'm not planning on deploying it

to end users.
