DiRT regular schedule

I didn't see where or how you schedule DiRT to run nightly, etc. This is a Voicemail only deployment with 7815s so I am worried a hard drive failure will cause them to lose everything. They bought the DAT tape back, as they don't have a LAN/Backup solution in place (ie Veritas).

You could do DiRT backups to a network file share, and backup the file-server.
