Exchange IP Changed causing Unity failure

My customer changed the ip address of the exchange server that Unity was tied to. They have a unity unified messaging server version 4.0.5 and exchange. Is this fixable or will this require a major resolution - e.g. reinstall unity? Are there any other issues to be concerned with? Please advise.

Unity uses the server name to connect to the partner server, so assuming the server name can be resolved to the new IP address, Unity should work fine. Try to ping the server name from Unity. If it resolves to the old address, verify that the new address is present in your DNS and then go to a command prompt on the Unity server and type "ipconfig /flushdns". If you need to change the name of the partner server, you can do so by going to the Tools Depot on the desktop on the Unity server. Go the Administration Tools and the Advanced Settings Tool. Under System, there's a setting for server name.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.
