Exchange user modification and deletion?

HI

Unity 4.1 (UM) w/AD2003/E2003

If a user email acct name or alias gets change, will that sync up with Unity? or do I have to delete user and recreate?

If user is delete in E2003, will that auto delete the unity subscriber?

Thanks

If you delete a user in Ex2003 than you will have to manually delete the user in Unity. It is recommended that you first remove the user from AD and Exchange and then from Unity

For the first question, I am pretty sure that when you make a change in alias or exchange acct name it does not replicate this change to Unity.

Neither of these statements is correct.

Changes to the alias and name will synch into Unity just fine and always have.

If you delete the user in AD, Unity will automatically remove the user in SQL if you have proper rights configured for the directory facing account. This has been the case for some time - it was only necessary to manually remove users in Unity in earlier 3.x versions of Unity and/or if you didn't have rights to the deleted items container in AD (what triggers us to know a user has been deleted in AD).

when you say "directory facing account" do you mean the UnityDirSvc acct?

Thx

yes - as opposed to the message store facing account used for mail access.
