One of our user need following "What we would like to do is if the phone is not answered in the upstairs reception (x4444) within 5 rings that it is then diverted to the downstairs reception (x5555) for 5 rings, if nobody answers it then goes to x4444 voicemail.
Is it possible to forward “if nobody answers it then goes to x4444 voicemail.”
What version of CUCM are you using? By default, CUCM should preserve the originalredirectingparty information in the call setup message sent to the voicemail system. Which would facilitate the mailbox integration you are looking to have.
The standard ring cadence in the US is 6 seconds (2 on and 4 off). So, on the x4444 line you should set the Ring No Answer to 30 seconds (to get 5 rings). You would also set x5555 to do the same. Except that x5555 should Call Forward No Answer to voicemail (check the box, and use the voicemail profile).
