We are looking to possibly introduce a UCCX with IVR into our scenario. From my reading, I see that UCCX does not have support for G711alaw but we are using SIP to ITSP which uses alaw (There is no CUBE). If we are going to taking calls from SIP to IVR, which go alaw to ulaw and will use MTP from translating, do we need to increase MTP amount? Or add MTP router? Will all calls to IVR use MTP in these case?
Regarding the MTP requirement i would say that MTP would be needed for alaw to ulaw conversion ( software MTP can do it ). If the number of simultaneous calls / sessions is high ( more than 100 ) i would suggest using a dedicated CUCM server that is not involved in call processing or distributing the load across multiple servers. You can use IOS based MTP's for remote locations if there are no cucm servers at that location.
The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
