Hi,
I have a h323 gateway, when an ip phone dial out to PSTN, the codec used is G.729 when the call is established.
When i call from PSTN to that IP phone, both phones use G.711.
Is there a way i can make it such that the codec is G.711 when i dial from the IP phone to the PSTN ?
The H323 gateway and the IP phone is using the same device pool, hence same region.

Have you tried to configure the codec command under the dial peer?:
Configure at global level:
voice class codec 1
codec preference 1 g711ulaw
codec preference 2 g711alaw
!
And under the voip dial-peer:
voice-class codec 1

Have tried, but doesn't help.

just an update, it works now. I have a couple of voip statements and the matching one happens not to have the voice-class codec commands :(
