Has anyone switch from Unity UM to Unity Cxn on CUWL

I have a customer on CUWL standard, they have Cisco Unity on the VM server and we would like to switch to Cisco Unity Connection. Does anybody know how to obtain the licensing using CUWL to migrate from Unity to Cxn?

Hi,

You can the upgrade media using the Product Upgrade Tool

http://tools.cisco.com/gct/Upgrade/jsp/productUpgrade.jsp

You will need the ESW contract number to which the CUWL contract is associated.

From the PUT tool you need to order UNCN7-UTYMIG-K9= (if you want the Domino version you need to order UNCN7-D-UTYMIG-K9=).

Cisco will then ship new media which takes around two weeks.

To obtain the license upgrade you need to follow the process documented on page 35 of the pdf file below.

I will not post the full process as it is confidential to partners but to complete it you need to gather the following info.

• Sales order number validating UCSS upgrade

• MAC address of your existing Cisco Unity server

• MAC address of the new server for Cisco Unity Connection (if different)

I completed this process about a month ago and it worked smoothly.
