ISDN B-Channels will not come up

How can I make sure that my ISDN B-Channels are enabled for service? I am running a 2911 SRST Router and have a 23 Channel PRI connected. The Telco states that the D Channel is up but the B-Channels are blocked or in auto restart mode. I get the following on my debug:

ISDN B-Channels will not come up

Hi James,

From the output of the "sh isdn service" it looks like the 0/0/1:23 interface in question has all 23 channels in an inservice state.  You could try to bounce the controller to see if that has any effect on the issue but I doubt it -

conf t

controller t1 0/0/1

shut

no shut

In my past expiriences b channel restarts like what you have provided in your orginal post are due to errors or mis configuration on the carrier side.

Thanks,
Tony

ISDN B-Channels will not come up

Hi James,

From the output of the "sh isdn service" it looks like the 0/0/1:23 interface in question has all 23 channels in an inservice state.  You could try to bounce the controller to see if that has any effect on the issue but I doubt it -

conf t

controller t1 0/0/1

shut

no shut

In my past expiriences b channel restarts like what you have provided in your orginal post are due to errors or mis configuration on the carrier side.

Thanks,
Tony
