I'm trying to meet a deadline and produce an estimate and design for a new MeetingPlace deployment. All of the Unified MeetingPlace 7.x documents call out a Cisco MCS server (either the 7835 or 7845). Cisco and HP have parted ways. However, we sold this solution to management as "one throat to choke" when it comes to support. So the hardware must come from Cisco.
What does Cisco offer for the MeetingPlace application server? I've got the question out to my excellent Cisco account team but they've not yet found the answer.
IBM has an equivalent server model for every HP. In your research, whatever you specifed as the HP 7835 or 7845 version would have an equivalent IBM model as well. You just need to backtrack the original hardware recommendation and choose the IBM part number. The costs (to my knowledge) are generally the same between the 2 brands when buying OEM from Cisco.
