Hello Experts,

We have Unity 4.2 with exchange

Some of our users that have two lines, need one mailbox per extension.

We are talking about a single users that have multiple mailboxes.

They have ONE single USER ID in Active Directory, TWO extensions in CallManager, we don't mind creating two subscriber to those users, but how in Active Directory can we associate a single USER ID to two Subscribers in Unity?

Thanks in advance!

Luisa,

When the user is created in AD, it has one mailbox associated to it. Unity will only allow a one-to-one mapping between a Unity subscriber and an AD account/mailbox. You'll need to create another AD account that has its own mailbox for the second line.

Hope that helps,

Brad

Luisa:

Bmagnani is right, the user in AD has only one mailbox, now the question is, what is the purpose to have 2 different mailbox.

Don't you think it's gonna be better to have one mailbos for those two extensions?

I mean better because you don't consume unity voicemail's licenses and you don't run out of it in the future.

The only thing you need to do, it to go to alternate extension on the subscriber page, and associate the second extension there and that's it.

But it's up to you, and really I don't get the purpose to have 2 different mailboxes, to be honest it's a waist of time and a waist of license feature for you unity server.
