Problems with Informix ODBC Drivers

When I install Informix ODBC Drivers that I downloaded from this link: http://lindborglabs.com/App_InformixDrivers.htm, and then try to install any connection application like Connection Audiotext Manager or PDF Wallet Card Wizard, it says that I need to install Informix ODBC drivers, it seems that are not detected.

Can someone help me with a link to get the correct drivers for Windows 7 for 64 bits.

Thanks,

Juan Carlos Arias

yeah - LindborgLabs.com is the old site - you'll notice those tool versions out there are years old - head out to www.CiscoUnityTools.com - the all downloads page has a super-easy to use grid that shows all tools so you can find your wallet card wizard, ATM and all other tools easily... get updated setups there.

here's the updated ATM for instance:

http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/ATM/ATM.html

I'll set about taking that old LindborgLabs site off line entirely - had no idea folks were still linking to that after all this time...

the setups should properly recognize the ODBC driver if you have it installed - if not, then take a look in your add/remove programs list and make sure you don't have multiple instances of IBM's informix driver installed (IBM allows for this and they don't manage it terribly well).

Hello Rob

Thanks for your comments. I download and install the file that you sent me, it says that I only need to install ODBC, .NET and the GLS components, but I didn't found which option slects GLS components so I installed with all options, restart PC ant try to install a connection application, but still says that I must install first IBM Informix database drivers.

While I was installing, there is an option that I need to input name of IBM server controller, I didn't know exactly what this means so I leave it the default value, which was IBMDBCL1.

Is there something else I need to do after installing??  What do you think could be missing??

Regards,

can you provide the links to the tool(s) you are trying to install that give you that error?

You really only need to install ODBC (the updated driver install puts the GLS files on there for you) but installing everything is fine as well.

I suspect given the very old link you had for the ODBC driver you also have very old links to the tools you're using - we've been at the new site for over 5 years now - I left the old one up at that URL only for redirection and archive purposes - perhaps the time has come to take it down entirely if folks are still hanging on to old links there.

Make sure you're going to www.CiscoUnityTools.com - it's the site and has been for some time now.  If you are getting the tools from there point me at one you're using and give me some details about the OS you're installing on as you're having some sort of unusual problem with your local config then...

Hello lindborg,

This are the links that I used to download files:

Informix ODBC Drivers:

http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/InformixODBC/InformixODBC.html

PDF Wallet Card Wizard:

http://lindborglabs.com/App_CUC_WalletCardWizard.htm

Audio Text Manager:

http://lindborglabs.com/App_CUC_ATM.htm

My OS is Windows 7 64 bits, I just install the Informix drivers, no other configuration, restart PC and try installing connection application with known results.

Hope this helps to get a solution, please tell me if you need some other information.

Perfect lindborg, that's the solution, now I don't receive any error message when installing any connection application, now I'll work on it.

Thanks for your help.
