We are currently using Unity 4.2(1) back ended by Exchange 2003.
The CEO of our company would like to use Public Distribution lists to broadcast messages that could potentially exceed 3 minutes in length to our entire company of 1500+ people.
My concern is the amount of space that this would consume on our exchange server. Where can I find information on how messages are treated for Public Distribution lists i.e. will all employees be listening to one copy of the same voice mail or could we potentially be in a situation where we have 1500+ copies of the same attachment floating around.
Exchange uses (and has used since the 5.x days) single instance messaging for messages sent to multiple targets - including distribution lists. Each mailstore that houses one or more of the target recipients will get one copy of it and each recipient on that mailstore will get a link to that copy.
