Hi,

We have a setup with a nortel PBX connected with 2800 series router through E1 trunk. We configured PVDM 2 16 for 16 channels. We configured dialpeers from router to remote places. Here the problem is when 8 calls is happening at a time 9th call is not happening. Thanks in advance.....

Re: pvdm2 16 call failure

You are likely using G.729 on your outgoing dial peer, because it is the default.

To be sure, you can use 'show voice call summary' to see the codecs in use. If you're using anything other than G.711 you won't be able to get more than 8 calls up.

Additionally - if you have any dspfarm profiles set up like conferencing or transcoding, this is reserve DSP channels. The same thing goes with analog ports (FXO/FXS). Even if these are not in use, they reserve channels for signaling.

'show voice dsp group all' is helpful in these scenarios.

hth,

nick
