Replacing unity server/ with bridge

UM 4.04sr1, Intecom legacy PBX. Octel Bridge. Exchange 2003.

We are replacing the Unity server. Different host name.

Haven't been able to find instruction that talk about steps to deal with subscribers with an Octel Bridge implementation. Do I need to reenter all the nodes information to the new server before running DIRT or will DIRT restore take care of all items?

Re: Replacing unity server/ with bridge

Hi -

We replaced a Unity server, configured as the bridgehead server, to a Unity bridge server. The DiRT backup/restore preserves this information. As long as you are not moving the Bridge server itself or the voice connector, you will be fine. There are a few caveats to be aware of when moving to a new Unity server:

- Create login script to modify users' TRAP registry settings for the new server

- Redirection for \\oldserver\ciscopca to \\newserver\ciscopca. In DNS, you can add a new A-record for the new server; delete the old server's A-record and create a CNAME alias record that points the old server's FQDN to the new server's FQDN.

- You'll have to re-update the Advanced Settings in Unity Tools Depot. It's a good idea to copy the original server's settings before you remove the old server from the network.

- Updated license files for the new server's MAC address.

Regards,

Ginger
