Is there way to not have certain subscribers returned when people dial-by-name? Have a client who wants some subscribers who they want to remain private and not revealed in dial by name or directorys. They don't want the system to play their name and/or number to outside callers.
Is this possible for just some users without disabling spelled name search globally?
Also, when a non-unity subscriber calls in to unity and enters a extension and the call goes to VM, it saids "Sorry <persons name> is not available" - is there a way to not play persons recorded name here?
If a subscriber doesn't have a recorded name, they won't be accessible by dial by name. This would solve your other issue as well, although other subscribers then would not hear "Message from 'the person's name'"
I have several high level executives that I don't publish their VM boxes to the Directory Listing, and they are not listed in the Directory, when I use the Directory Handler.
However, they are also not listed in the VM directory when an internal person is using Unity to find them, which is probably rare, because they are probably using the Directory on their phones, directory supplied by CallManager.
But I did want a listing of them in Unity in some fashion, so I created a dummy voice mail box that their administrative assistants control and filter. The call will go to a dummy extension, which the admin can answer "John Doe's Office" or they can just let it ring to voice mail. They will get notification of voice mail and pick it up accordingly.

The below trick might come handy when you have to add a new node to a cluster but you don't have or is unsure of the security password for the publisher. This procedure has been around for ages.
1) Login into the CLI of the Publisher.
