5 Cisco IP Phone Services

6 Cisco AXL Web Service

The minimum you need to activate is:

Cisco CallManager (for call processing)

Cisco TFTP (for softphone configuration download)

Cisco AXL Web Service (for database synchronization)

Cisco CTIManager (for desk phone control)

Thanks!

Thank you Michael

but what I need is to know what is meaning of:

Cisco Communications Manager not Cisco CallManager.

and Cisco IP Phone Services. for sure to implement I have to create services for IM but is there any service required?

and what about extension Mobility?

I don't recall there's a service called "Cisco Communications Manager". Where did you find it?

Thanks!

Michael

In Deployment Guide for Cisco Unified Presence Release 7.0

at the end of chapter 3

Verifying That the Required Services are Running on Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager

Make sure that the following services are running:

1 Cisco CallManager

2 Cisco TFTP

3 Cisco Extension Mobility

4 Cisco Communications Manager

5 Cisco IP Phone Services

6 Cisco AXL Web Service

I think it's a mistake in the document.

There's no service called "Cisco Communication Manager".

As for "Cisco IP Phone Service", it's for an optional CUPS feature called IPPM (IP Phone Messenger). If you're not going to use IPPM (which most people don't), you don't need "Cisco IP Phone Service".

Thank you Michael

and what about Extension Mobility??

You are right. There's no "Cisco IP Phone Service".

Extension Mobility is not required.
