Hello,

I have several Siemens Optipoint 420 phones that I would like to setup on CUCM. Has anyone done this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Did you try settting them up as 3rd party SIP phones?  Did that not work?

Chris

Chris,

Yes I did. The phone gets stuck on trying to register with CUCM. I do not know if the problem is with the setup on the phone or in CUCM.

Tony

Anthony,

Are you sure the Siemens phone model support SIP protocol ?

GP.

Gajanan,

Yes, I have the latest SIP firmware installed on the phone.

Tony,

Following link has the list of tested 3rd party SIP phones with CUCM http://www.tekvizionlabs.com/3rdpartyprograms/sip_verification/verified_products.php

Hope it helps ?

Gajanan,

Thanks for the site but there was nothing related to Siemens on it.

Thanks,

Tony

Tony,

That indicates that unfortunately the Siemens phones are not supported on CUCM, just like many other competing vendor phones (Avaya, Nortel, etc). It does not mean you cannot get them to work, but you will not find any supporting documentation nor support from Cisco TAC.

HTH,

Chris

Tony,

I concur with Chris. If having those phones with CUCM is a critical business need for you, then you might want to raise a test request on the same portal for getting those phones tested & supported. It can be done from here http://www.tekvizionlabs.com/3rdpartyprograms/sip_verification/testing_request.php
