Support for 64-bit on CUOM?

I am currently in the process of building a CUOM on windows 2003 enterprise HP DL360G5 server, with specs

2 x Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor E5450

8 GB Ram

32-bit windows can only properly address maximum 4gb of memory, which also happens to be the recommended amount for operations manager.

My question is, will CUOM run on a 64-bit install on win2k3? And will it have any additional benefits running on 64-bit?

I am not sure if this has any relevance but this article about SNMP Polling references a 64-bit counter vs a 32b-bit counter but i am not sure if this has anything to do with the OS.

If any one has any advice on this issue it would be much appreciated.

Re: Support for 64-bit on CUOM?

Hi Matt,

CUOM will run on a 64-bit version of Windows 2003. There will be no additional benefit other than windows being able to address more than 4GB of memory but that is not required for CUOM 2.0.3.

CUOM 2.0.3 System Requirements are below.

64-bit and 32-bit counters in SNMP have nothing to do with 32-bit and 64-bit OS versions. SNMP bit count refers to the number of bits allocated for the counter (max value is (2^x)-1) whereas OS bit count refers to the size of the instructions that the processor processes.
