I am getting ready to implement a VMWare server virtualization solution.  I have had about 6 different vendors propose solutions, however up until this last one (NETAPP) I had not even considered what hardware Cisco would support their software on (CCM, Unity, CUBAC, etc)  Is there a list of supported hardware/software solutions?  I am looking to virtualize thing like CCM, CUBAC, ACS etc

Chad,

I am trying to get my head around this one too.  I have started doing a write up on the "UC on UCS" model and UC virtualization.  You may find some of this information useful (hopefully):

http://www.netcraftsmen.net/resources/blogs/uc-on-ucs-virtualizing-the-unified-communications-core.html

At the bottom of the blog, you will find two very useful links.  One will give you the bare metal hardware requirements and the second will send you to the Cisco DocWiki on UC virtualization.  Note that the offering for certain UC apps is somewhat limited at this time.  Cisco plans on expanding the options for users very quickly.  Take a look at the above link and definitely get in serious strategy discussion with your Cisco AM.

HTH.

Bill

EDIT:  I just noticed you were asking about other apps outside of the core UC proposition.  I am not sure about ACS.  I believe that the attendant console app servers can support virtualization, but it has been a while since I have researched that and I believe there was a caveat like "maybe it is supported, we didn't test it thoroughly." ;-)

EDIT: Just to add to Bill's advise I know CUXAC are planned for VMware, last thing I heard was summer 2010 but there were no ETAs or versions confirmed
