Hi i have 3 users sharing same extension( shared line) in CCM 4.1 , i want to know whether they can access common mail box. Because we can not create 3 subscriber in the unity for the single ext no. how to go give voice mail facility to the 3 users who is sharing the Ext.pls explain
Create a "general mailbox" and have the shared line be this subscriber. The voicemail light and message envelop will blink on each of the devices that have line shared on it. If they need to have their own extension, create a second line on the phone for their "personal line". Then they can have their own mailbox.
Here is how we deal with this situation ... some of our computer operators share a single extension over multiple shifts. So we use the single extension as the extension of a call handler. Then we code caller input keys, one for each user. If the shared extension is 56876, we have User1 enrolled in Unity with extension 568761, User2 enrolled in Unity with extension 568762, and so on. The operators have to signin to check voicemail, but we mitigate with is a revised welcome note that shows them how to login. Most of these users use Outlook for accessing voicemail anyway. The call handler recording says, "You have reached XXX Company. To leave a voice message for xxxx, press 1. To leave a voice message for xxxx, press 2 etc.
