Hi,
I'm in the process of planning a UC upgrade, but my questions are:
What is the best practice for upgrading from version 4 to 7?
Do you upgrade CCM first or Unity first?

there really is no best practice, both systems can operate the minute you finish the upgrade.
there is no problem with TSP as the versions have one the latest and is backwards compatible
just make sure to have all the licenses and to read the upgrade instructions carefully before doing the actual process

Hi -
I would recommend upgrading the CallManager servers first. If you are running Windows 2000 on CCM version 4.X then planning for your DMA and licensing process will take some time. You should only need to upgrade TSP on the Unity servers for integration with CCM version 7 and you can do this ahead of the CCM upgrade. I also recommend pre-loading the CCM 7.0 phone loads prior to the CCM upgrade change. That way if you have to fallback, the phones won't have to downgrade their software loads with the fallback.
