A very basic question:
what is the definition of "unidentified callers". I think as long as the caller is not a subscriber?

Normally this term is used by an offnet caller who is not serving up any Caller ID information.

Hi -
Even if the off-net caller's phone system sends caller id, Unity still thinks of this as an unidentified caller and the voice message comes thru the partner server's Unity_servername mailbox. Unity subscribers that are on Unity servers in different dialing domains, I believe will also come into the user's inbox as Unidentified caller. Forgot to add the Unity definition, "An outside caller, or a subscriber who did not log on to Cisco Unity before calling from an external phone or from a phone that is not associated with a subscriber account (such as a conference room). Subscribers who call from an extension inside the organization on a phone system that does not support identified subscriber messaging are also considered unidentified callers."

Unity will read off the number of the calling party and not state unidentified caller in 4.05 and later! So in either CM or Unity an unidentified callers is someone without caller-id information which is almost always an offnet caller.
