Unified Messaging question.

I have a simple question, I have only worked with VM only servers.

If Im licensed for UM, I left a VM for a subscriber. When The user opens Outlook and download the messages, and those are now in the Inbox, marked as NEW, if I use the Phone will I be able to listen to them?

How does Unity know that there are new VM if they are now in the Outlook Inbox, no longer with Exchange.

The MWI is still ON|OFF ?

Thanks.

If you are moving the messages out of the user's mailbox on the mail server and onto their local client computer then Unity will, of course, not have access to those messages - the lamp will be off in that case.

Typically, however, you don't have Outlook configured to copy all messages off the server and onto the client - the messages stay on the server and you can view them with the Outlook client and get at them over the phone no problem.

Thanks so much!

Now is clear!

As long as voice message remains in inbox (exchange mailbox not pst) you could hear them over the phone or any player,

Once you read/hear the message they are no longer marked as new, exchange communicates this to unity,

offcourse you can hear all messages not only voice over the phone,
