Unified Messaging: Replacing Exchange Servers

We have Unified Messaging with Unity 4.0(4) and Exchange 2000. We are about to replace our aging Exchange servers (keeping Exchange 2000). It is likely that the serves will be given the sames; effectively just the hardware is being upgraded.

What are the implications for Unity? Will anything need to be with Unity post-upgrade?

Check out the reconfiguration guide here:

there's a section there specific to changing the Exchange server out of the partner exchange that Unity is hooked to. That's the only one that you should have to take special care for. Other Exchange servers that house mailstores will be "pointed to" by the user's AD account presumably (or you've got bigger problems!) and Unity will find it to log into the mailbox as necessary. But changing out the Exchange box we connect directly to for our outside caller messages and such takes a little extra caution.
