Unity 4.0(4) install issues

I am installing Unity 4.0(4) on a server in its own domain. However, it will not be doing any unified messaging, and is to only collect voicemail messages and play them back on the phone. I am going to install the Exchange tools onto the Unity server. Will this be able to run the voicemail for messaging? I am a bit confused, because I have come across a server setup like this, but the admin of that no longer is empolyed there. Can I run this and use Unity as only a VM server without needing a partner Exchange server? I have looked over the install notes and it keeps referring to the partner Exchange server; do I point it to look at itself in this case? Is there documentation on what I am about to do or is this supported?

Re: Unity 4.0(4) install issues

Unity 4.0(4) will require an Exchange server to save subscriber messages. VM-only server can have AD, Exchange, SQL, and Unity installed on the same server. If you want to offload resources of this server, you could add a second server with Exchange and AD.

If exchange server is installed on this server, you can point to the unity server for partner server.
