Have a client that has lost the only DC in their AD. They are having to rebuild the DC from scratch and re-attach the Exchange 2003 server.
What procedure will I need to follow to rejoin the Unity server back to the Exchange in the new domain. Will I need to use DIRT to do a backup, then reinstall Unity and do a restore. Or can I use the DC/GC reconnect tool and the Message Store configuration wizard?
If you are going to rebuild the same domain and have a backup of AD, you could restore AD and then use DC/GC reconnect. If you don't have a backup, you will need to use DiRT to backup Unity, reinstall the same version of Unity so that AD gets updated and then restore Unity. Please take a look at the following link describing what is and is not backed up with DiRT.
