- Unity 4.0(5)
- Unified Messaging
- New Unity install
- Unity running properly (can add users, mwi, etc)
- permissions wizard runs no problem
When I attempt to add a Public Distribution List, I get an error that says "Invalid Active Directory Path -- probably illegal characters in name".
domain has no illegal characters (not even a -) and same goes for the hostname, and no OU's have any strange characters.
Event Viewer error I get is below:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: CiscoUnity_DSAD
Event Category: Error
Event ID: 1048
Date: 10/17/2006
Time: 7:02:13 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SSFHUN1
Description:
The Cisco Unity service that monitors Active Directory (AvDSAD) failed to create object.
Type: AVOBJECTTYPE_DISTLIST
Name: SITE-SFH-DISTRIBUTION-LIST
Reason: E_ADS_BAD_PATHNAME: <unknown>Domain Controller: server.customer.com
Possible causes include: 1) Network connectivity to the Domain Controller. 2) Insufficient rights for The Cisco Unity service that monitors Active Directory (AvDSAD) account.
Ensure that The Cisco Unity service that monitors Active Directory (AvDSAD) can contact the Domain Controller and has sufficient rights to create objects. If the problem persists, enable all the micro traces for The Cisco Unity service that monitors Active Directory (AvDSAD) in the Unity Diagnostic Tool. Report the problem to Cisco TAC and include the diagnostic log.
Any ideas?

Hi,
CN=First Storage Group CN=InformationStore CN=SSFHMS1 CN=Servers CN=ABCDSF CN=Administrative Groups CN=ABCDCorp CN=Microsoft Exchange CN=Services CN=Configuration DC=ABCDcorp DC=com) failed in CAvADConnection::GenerateLegacyExchangeDn : E_ADS_BAD_PATHNAME:
Could you please confirm that this Mailbox store path do exists in Exchange?

If you create an Universal Distribution Group in ADUC, Are you able to import it.
Have seen this and re-running MSCW (Message Store Configuration Wizard) works. (Do it after hours, since it restart Unity services)
Also check that DC|GC connectivity is good use DC/GC reconnect tool.
Let us know,
