Be sure that the registry is set to allow schema updates. Take a look at the following link.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Hi -

I was unable to see the graphic when I opened your image002 file. Did it perhaps say, "?Extending the schema in the Active Directory failed. Please consult the error log LDIF.ERR in your TEMP directory.? or something like that? Did you find an ldif.err file? If so, please attach that to your post. I have also attached Microsoft link with steps to give write access to schema on domain controller using schema management console - less risky than updating your registry, which will work as well. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285172/

Thanks for replying so fast everyone. I did find the problem...it was tht I wasnt using the cd to do the install just copied the adschema folder over to the server...it looks for other files on the cd..I didnt know that..Now I do..:)...

My DC/GC is in a remote location. Is there any work-around to not having a CD to run at the remote location for the Schema Extension? I thought I would be able to just place the ADSCHEMA folder on the GC and run using Terminal Services. It appears from the previous post that this won't work?

Thanks!
