Unity 4x Uninstall

We have migrated our voicemail to another system and I am trying to gracefully remove Unity 4.2.  I attempted to run the UnityUninstall tool and it notified me that the install was done incorrectly on the root of the drive (great work by this partner huh?).  The tool then exits and there does not appear to be a way to proceed.  I've read the bug report CSCsa61630 that basically says the tool will remove all files from drive and you should back up files you want to keep before running the tool.  Regardless of what is done to back up any files, as the tool programmed now, will not proceed.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cleanly decommission Unity 4.2 given these conditions?  Is there a way to instruct the UnityUninstall tool to ignore the condition?
