Unity Connection 1.1.1

New install with CM 4.1.3 in a week...I haven't got a chance to test but on reading the docs, I have a couple of ques:

1. For Ports on "Ougoing Hunt Order" is it still a good idea to use "highest first" or "longest idle" assuming multiple ports?

2. Does UC support Failover?

3. Is it still recommend to do the 75/25 rule for ports?

4. For AXL user/pwd, I am assuming I create a user in ldap for this?

5. For AXL Order, I am assuming to use Pub 1st, and then subs for 2nd and 3rd?

6. How do I ensure SQL gets install versus MSDE?

7. Since UC is in a workgroup, how does UC access LDAP? I am assuming it goes throuch CM. What issues will arise if CM is DC versus AD?

Re: Unity Connection 1.1.1

I'll take a swing at a few of these anyway.

2 - no.

3 - yes, but of course it's not a hard and fast rule.

4 - AXL is a CM thing - nothing to do with Connection, right?

5. same as 4

6 - the appropriate version of SQL is installed based on the size of the system you purchase and install. You do not manually select it.

7. Connection doesn't access LDAP.

Re: Unity Connection 1.1.1

For #7, since UC doesn't access LDAP, but isn't there a AD integration option or feature?

Without AD integration, UC seems to be more work than Unity

According to:

I'm guessing this allows for importing users or is the only option is using BAM as oppose to AD integration:

Also, does this mean we have to manually add all IMAP clients rather than have AD integration take care of it:

but then again, there is probably a good argument for taking AD/exchange out???

Re: Unity Connection 1.1.1

There is no AD integration or LDAP interface - BAM is the only option for bulk import of user information (via CSV).
