Unity Connection - Broken prompt messages and garbled speech recording

Customer is running for the last 6 months Unity Connection 1.1 SR1 Engineering Special 23

Customer has had no problems with Voice Mail for 6 months. But today he says he gets Voice Mail prompt messages with lost / broken words / choppy voice quality and sometimes prompts repeated - for example like press # press#

Then when the user goes to retrieve the message it is totally garbled altogether and cannot understand the message at all.

He says that he did get some messages in the Unity Connection Server's Event View Log, which have since gone away after rebooting the Server, but the voice quality problem with Voice Mail is till there. He said he will send that Event View Log.

The Unit Connection Server has dual NIC cards with one card connecting to one CAt 3560 and the other card connecting to other CAt 3560.

The problem is there even on the local LAN itself (from one user's phone to the one in the next cubicle), so I don't think this could be any QoS issue.

Re: Unity Connection - Broken prompt messages and garbled speech

The problem you describe, though, is classic dual NIC stuff - sounds like the most likely cause. You should at least run through the basic troubleshooting steps for it anyway - good place to start:
