Unity Connection: Get rid of some system WAVs

Hi all,

I'm looking for a solution to get rid of some system messages automatically played by Unity Connection. With Unity 4.x this was easy by just replacing the WAV files with empty ones. Is there a possibility to do this with Unity Connection as well?

Thanks,

Regards,

>Mike

Re: Unity Connection: Get rid of some system WAVs

Hi Mike,

I'm just guessing what you may be trying to get rid of here :)

The ability to change these files depends what version of UC you are running.

If it's 1.x "Windows" (yes - see below) if it's 2.x, (no - due to needing the Linux Root password). In the newly released UC 7.0 the ability to turn these On/Off is built-in like in the newest Unity versions.

Disabling the "Wait While I Transfer Your Call" Prompt

By default, Cisco Unity Connection plays the "Wait while I transfer your call" prompt when it transfers a call to an extension. Some callers do not like hearing the prompt, and for this reason, you may want to specify that Connection does not play it.

You configure whether or not the prompt will be played on the Edit Transfer Rule page for a specific user or call handler transfer rule.

The ability to change "Record Your Message at the Tone" prompt is not available until UC 7.0;

User Templates Edit Greeting

Play the "Record Your Message at the Tone" Prompt

Check this check box to have Cisco Unity Connection prompt callers to wait for a tone before recording their message.

Default setting: Check box checked.

For Unity versions prior to 4.1 (and UC 1.x) here is an excellent answer from Jeff @ Cisco;
