Unity in Multidomain

I have a customer with single domain unity. He wants to move to multidomain environment. They have one unity server and don't have any other unity server. Unity is part of A domain (XYZ.COM with Exchange 2000). They acquired another company B(ABC.COM) which has 2 sub domain ( def.com and ghi.com with exchagne 2000). They all are on windows 2000 Active directory. How the user in other domain can get the voice mail.

User has email account in either ABC.com, def.com or ghi.com but not in xyz.com.

Is this a voicemail only setup or UM? The way to look at this is to think about Unity as an Exchange enviroment. Ask yourself.. What would Microsoft do in this situation if you had Exchange at company xyz.com and merged with company B?

Yes, it is UM. But the situation is different as unity talks to only one exchange. How can you configure unity to talk to other domain exchagne.

Has Cisco any documentation on how to integrate unity with different domain? is anyone done before?

Have you merged the two Active Directory domains into one domain since company a,b, and c have merged? If your Exchange Org consists of:

Exchange Org: Company A

Exchange Servers company A

Exchange Servers company B

Exchange Servers company C

These servers all in the same Exchange Org. Inside this Org are all your Exchange servers and mailstores with their users. If Unity only points to one Exchange Server ( Server A for instance) and you add more Exchange servers, you will need to update Unity.

You should be able to use Permissions Wizard (rerun this). It will walk you through on how to setup Exchange as the messaging store for Unity. Is this Wizard, you should be able to add more Stores (the servers B and C in your Org).

Just remember to follow all the guidelines for the accounts for Unity.
