We have a couple of CallManager Clusters and CallManager Express connecting to a single Unity server. What is the maximum number of integrations supported by a single unity server?

Hopefully the Unity integration guide for CCME will get you what you need. It has a section on "Programming Multiple Cisco CallManager Express Routers to Integrate with a Single Cisco Unity Server"...

The only technical limitation is that you'd have at least one port per cluster and you can have at most 72 ports. However, this is not a very efficient use of ports. Unity makes no association between subscribers and CCM cluster. When setting the MWI for a subscriber, Unity sends an MWI request to each cluster for which you have ports configured. Thus you should provision MWI ports to each cluster as if all of your subscribers reside on that cluster. e.g. if you have 7500 total subscribers, every cluster configured will experience MWI traffic for all 7500 subscribers, even if some of the clusters only have a couple dozen phones on it.
The best plan would be to network the CCM clusters using ICTs that support MWI and thus centralized voicemail. Unity would then need to interface with only one of the CCM servers. Older versions of CCM cannot relay MWI across ICTs. In this case you will need ports registered to one CCM server per cluster. I would still recommend routing all call traffic (inbound and outbound) through a single CCM local to Unity. You'll probably only need one or two MWI ports dedicated for each CCM cluster.
Unity should only need to interface with one of the CCMEs. As far as I know, CCME has always supported MWI relay between systems. There should never be a need to configure Unity for direct connection to more than one CCME.

Eric, thank you for your response.
We have about eight integrations, 3 X CallManager Clusters (8-16 ports each) and 5 X CCME (4-6 ports each) almost reaching the 72 port limit. Everything has worked fine so far with no issues at all.
We now have a requirement to commission 10 more sites. I was considering cutting back on the ports for some clusters depending on utilization or purchasing another unity server for the new sites. But as you mentioned the current design doesn't make efficent use of the ports and is not very scalable.
Although I'd like to change the existing sites to the new design, getting it through change management won't be easy. I'll probably purchase another unity server and use the new centralized design going forward.
If I install a CCME box (no phones) at the central site and integrate it with a new unity server, how do the new remote CCME connect to unity to leave messages, etc?

Eric,
I have successfully connected 2 remote CME sites to the central unity server using a single integration.
It was easier than I thought to get the design change through after showing them the cost of buying another box compared to reconfiguring the existing setup :-). I am now working on coverting the remaining sites.
Thanks Again
