Installing Unity with "Platform Configuration & RAID" ,

I have 2 physical drives. I used PLATFORM CONFIGURATION DISK and installation create 2

logical drives ( C & D ) not 3 ( C , D & E ). as the documentation states.

JP,

Sounds like your server falls into the Platform Overlay 1 category in which case only 2 logical drives (C and D) are created. Please reference the section "Drive Locations for Files on a Platform Overlay 1 Server" in the link you posted. Also, see the following link for the criteria for Platform Overlay 1, 2, and 3 servers.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

I agree with Brandon,

Normally servers are ECS1 or ECS2.

ECS2 are configured with 2X RAID 1 hard drives for off-box Message Store.

And ECS1 versions typically have either 3XRAID1 or 2XRAID1 plus RAID10 arrays.

ECS1 are configured for VM only and ECS2 are optimized for UM deployments.

These ECS2 configurations typically posses fewer RAID-configured hard drives,

Platform Overlay 2 category is similar, in many ways to PO1. The primary difference is HD configuration.

Actuall y the important part is this one:

You stated that you only have 2 DRIVES= 2XRAID1 which

is clasified as PO1 per this table:

And not 3 C,D,E which is Table 2. You dont have enough HD to be a PO2.
