Unity PCA Not Available After 4.2(1) Upgrade

I upgraded two separate Unity servers to 4.2(1). After the upgrade the Unity PCA web page was unreachable on one of the servers. The other is fine. Any ideas?

Hi -

On the problem Unity server, was the TOMCAT service installed? On one Unity server upgrade to 4.2(1) the TOMCAT service was not installed, but ran OK on other two servers. I contacted TAC on this. Because the TOMCAT service is installed via a combination of script files, there was no way to get it operational without reinstalling Unity. I did so on this one server and TOMCAT installed OK. If you do have a TOMCAT, the ciscopca files are actually located in c:\commserver\cscoserv. I found this bug which you might want to check with TAC to see if applies to your server - http://www.ciscotaccc.com/kaidara-advisor/voice/showcase?case=K16485955

Also, when you ran the permissions wizard, did you check the Enable DCOM box?

Ginger

Bingo ... no Tomcat service on the server. The working Unity server has it. So the only way is to re-run the installer?

I do not recall an option for enable DCOM.

I'll check the bug report out.

Thanks!

Brian

Just received these links from Cisco. Looks like there's a way to rerun just the PCA/Tomcat scripts.

Thanks again for your help. You saved me a lot of time.

Hi Brian -

I attached the summary notes from my TAC case so you can review. There were some permissions I checked on the Unity server, included in the notes. I did try the procedure in the link you referenced, but it did not work. This was the first of three servers I upgraded in the same weekend. I did validate the permissions prior to upgrading Unity before commencing the upgrade on the other two. Thank you for your nice comments and I wish you the best on this!

Ginger,

I can access SA pages and I don't think (hope) that I have any permissions problems. I haven't run the script yet - waiting for a maintenance window. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is an easy fix.

Thanks,

Brian

I ran the PCA reinstall script and it worked great. All fixed. Thanks again for your help.
