Unity upgrade procedure from 3.1.5 to 4.0.5

Is it possible to use the 4.x Full Import/Export tool to migrate from 3.1.5 to 4.0.5 in one hit - or will we have to upgrade in 2 hops? Also will this tool carry over all customer messages, customised prompts and templates etc?

I think I'm encountering the same thing here and was wondering if you were able to do?

My customer is running unity 3.x w/exchange 5.5 on MCS-7835 and changing to MCS-7845 platform and upgrade to unity v4.0.5.

If you were able to perform this task, then can you share some information with me?

Firstly you cannot use DIRT to perform this task, as its basically a backup and restore tool for the same version of unity.

The process I used was to obtain the cisco unity upgrade kit - This is required due to the way the system no longer uses the 'dongle' and has moved the licences over to a flex lm style.

Then I basically followed the cisco doc 'upgrading unity to the shipping version' available on CCO.

All my original customer data was saved as I kept the same server - in your case you wont have the customer data on your new server - so the choice is yours - upgrade on the existing server then perform a DIRT - then build up the new server - then import DIRT.

Hope this helps.

Hi Thanks for reply.

I got more questions for you.

When you upgrade your unity to the shipping version, how did you upgrade exchange 5.5 to 2000?

I'm kind of confused about 'upgrading exchange' and 'task list' portion of that document.

If you don't mind, can you provide me some more information on how to upgrade exchange?
