Unity with Exchange 5.5 UM - upgrading to 2003

Hi,

Current situation we have is Unity 4.0(3) sr1 installed in domain A using exchnage 5.5 in domain B as message store (UM).

Customer has installed a completely new Exchange 2003 organisation in domain A (where unity server is already) and has moved mailboxes over.

(VMs are accessed through the TUI only at the moment)

My question is, to rehome Unity to the new Exchange org do I have to backup and restore or can I just re-run the message store config, as Unity is already in the right domain?

If I need to use Dirt, is it ok to just to uninstall Unity, re-install then restore, or would I need to blow the server away and rebuild?

Before any of this i will be upgrading to 4.0(4).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mick

You shouldn't need DiRT. Check out this guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_upgrade_guides_chapter09186a0080205a8b.html#wp1413690

Basically you disconnect from 5.5, install the Exchange 2003 System Manager (make sure to install SP1 on the Unity server too), setup permissions, and then reconnect Unity.

Thanks,
