On our Unity 4.0 Unityinstall user is configured in the permission wizard as only the installing user but on one of our domain controllers is showing that it has aprox 73 login failures daily, this happens from our failover server also. Unityinstall's password automatically changes every 4 hours thats why it probably fails but why would that user even try to connect to the domain controller?
I'm not a failover guru, but I did find a KB article on Cisco that recommended using the UnityInstall account to Log on as for both the MSSQLSERVER and SQLSERVERAGENT services, as the UnityInstall account is a member of the Domain Admins group - http://www.ciscotaccc.com/kaidara-advisor/voice/showcase?case=K15446451. Although the default account referenced in failover config specifies the unitydirsvc account. I'm wondering if the activity you are seeing is replication between your servers? Is there a way to prevent the password from automatically changing every 4 hours?
