Voice mail System questions

Dear All,

Sorry for the blast but I am reaching out to you to get some answers at the following questions?

1. What is the length of the longest message that can be recorded by a caller?

2. How many messages can be stored in a subscriber's mailbox?

3. What is the maximum total number of minutes of messages that can be stored in a single voice mailbox?

All 3 are going to depend on your configuration of things like Class of Service settings, storage space...etc.

1. you can configure the max message recording length for callers - the maximum the system will allow is 60 minutes out of the box.

2. As many as the message store space can handle - Unity respects the mailstore limits configured for the Exchange mailstore and mailbox (we have no choice in the matter!). Unity does not restrict messages based on the number that's in your inbox - all limitations go through mailstore size since we're riding on top of Exchange or Domino here and that's the mechanism they employ.

3. If you're using the G729a codec you can fit quite a few messages in there at 1Kb/sec - the default of G711 is 8Kb/sec for message recording size uses more space, of course, but sounds somewhat better and is required for some features (i.e. Bridge, TTY support).
